SPINACH ON WHOLE WHEAT BREAD Makes tour sandwiches % jcup = shredded fresh 1 chopped hard bailed cee ‘4 tsp. chopped celery ‘ tsp. onson jorce 1 Tos. mayonnarsc 1 cup sugar 2 tsp. cream of tartar 2 cups vegetable shortening (solid) Sift together first six ingre- dients in a large bowl. Add shortening and cut in to resemble corn meal. Store in large covered container at room temperature. Makes 13 cups of mix. To ase measure out 214 cups and add one cup of milk. Stir until well blended and drop by quarter cupfuls onto ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 450° for 10 minutes. For a very good variety use one can undiluted Combine ail and mix lightly. Spread on lightly buttered whole wheat bread. ingredients ROAST BEEF AND ONION ON WHITE BREAD Makes four sandwiches Sliced roast beef 4 lettuce leaves ‘A cup sour cream 2 tsp. onion soup mix 1 tsp. prepared horseradish ‘ tsp. shredded onion Butter four slices of enriched white bread. Place roast beef slices on bread and top with lettuce leaf. Mix together sour cream, omon mu, horseradish and shredded onion. Salt and pepper to taste.
