NORTH Vancouver
RCMP are looking for a
career criminal in con-
nection with a pair of
robberies that occurred
last week in the City

and District of North
Vancouver.

Qn April 17 at around
12:30 a.m. a lone male suspect
entered the 7-11 store near
29th and Lonsdale. Armed
with a machete, he instructed
the clerk on duty to pui all the
cash and cigarettes into a box

and then fled the scene.

The suspect's getaway vehi-
cle had been stolen earlier from
a osesidence in North
Vancouver and was recovered
in the lower Lonsdale area.

The following day at
approximately 1:42 p.m. two
men armed with — knives
entered the Canada Trust at

suspected of hold-ups

18th Street and Lonsdale. One
male stayed near the door
while the other — suspect
demanded money from a teller.
Both suspects fled the scene in
a stolen vehicle following the
robbery.

That vehicle was also fater
recovered by patrol officers.

An investigation by the

North Vancouver — Serious
Crime Section has linked both
robberies to one suspect.

The second male at the
bank has yet to be identitied.

Police have not released the
name of the first suspect, but
identified him as a 29-year-old
caucasian male with a lengthy
criminal record.
