Web sites are being devel- oped for each of the non- profit agencies which will be linked to a main library cata- logue, so thar surfers can access information on each agency with the click ofa but- ton. The project was born in 1997 when the organizations received a grant from Human Resources Development Canada to be administered by the North Shore Disability Resource Centre. Library consulrant, fenny O'Grady, was hired with money from the grant. to organize, classify. and cata- logue cach agency's resources into a common database to avoid duplication and make information easily accessible. O'Grady and her staff also trained employees of the organizations on formatting information for the Web sites so they can update them indi- vidually in the future. John Neumann, intorma- tion services coordinator for the centre hopes the Web sites will raise the profile and increase awareness about the services and programs offered by cach agency. “Ie worked out fantastic.
