beautiful scenic park, Lynn Can-
yon, into a residential area is a pa-

thetic excuse for an idea.

The reconstruction of Lynn
Canyon would be an irrational
mistake that everyone would regret

in the end. To destroy an en-
vironment like Lynn Canyon

‘irational’

would deprive us of a nearby
community park.

We use this particular place for
recreation day in and day out.
Destroying it will enly strip our
community of a great outdoor
nature park.

If plans do follow through it will
prove North Vancouver District
Council has no compassion or

consideration whatsoever for our
interests concerning this project.

This new construction develop-
ment is unwanted by everyone.
Council should respect the public’s
opinion and find another location
to proceed with construction.

LGH nurses commended

Dear Editor:

In the midst of all that is now
being said over the present nursing
situation I would like to add my
voice.

1 was recently in Lions Gate
Hospital on floors 6 and 7 and
underwent surgery. I know that by
the way I was treated in both

wards that the nursing staff cared.

The ladies were obviously over-
worked but still available when
called upon and I knew, by their
attentions to me, that they had my
well-being in mind at all times and
that attitude certainly helped me,
both mentally and physically, in
my recovery.

Lions Gate Hospital is .a
wonderful asset to the North Shore
with all its facilities but without
the caring staff, both nurses and
doctors, it would just be an ordi-
nary health unit.
