Jorgen Bysse, president of Molina Developments Inc., told North Vancouver District council Monday night that his company needs answers to three questions: 1. Does council approve their concept in principle? 2. Can they get a develop- ment permit to lease the property? 3. What process must they go through to get a lease? The National Harbours Board owns the property which Distnct leases from them — and neither council nor the prospective developer knew what arrangements would be made once a decision on the future of the street end is finally made. Bysse presented a ten- tative plan to council, which, essentially, had been presented to council a couple of months ago by J.K.W. Engineering, but until Monday night, council was not fully aware that Molina had been represented by J.K.W. Council decided at an earlier meeting that a heliport (proposed previously) was not suitable for the site but that they wanted further recommen- N dations from staff regarding the development of the area. That staff report is expected in two weeks, after a written report from Bysse is received. Alderman Peter Powell asked once again about the feasibility of providing a floating breakwater to prevent damage from back- wash and Seaspan barges. J.K. Witting of J.K.W. Engineering, who was also present, said, “We feel the technical problems can be solved, but we cannot provide specific answers until we are given the O.K to proceed.” Tenders have not yet been called for. » pi.
