Play the game of suspect FOLLOWING the success of Clue, Monopoly and Trivial Pursuit, board game en- thusiasts are ready for a new challenge. And not since A Theatre- sports Hamlet in the fall of 1982 has a Vancouver au- dience been given the chance to determine a play’s direc- tion by contributing sugges- tions to the actors on Stage. Now comes Suspect — A Game of Murder; a you-dun- it, af you will, where the murderer is chosen blindly and at random each night by naway crowds. Every Friday opposites, is Suspect. a member of the audience. And it continues from there. Motives and methods of murder are also supplied by the audience as they join the detective and attempt to unravel the crime. In true murder mystery fashion, nobody is sure who’s guilty, least of all us. Who knows, it might even be you. Everyone is suspect. Theatresports has been Vancouver's hottest comedy improvisation event for five years, and still plays to tur and Saturday night at 10:30 p.m. the line-ups begin. But Since the success of A Theatresports Hamlet two years ago, the members of the League have been looking for a new mainstage vehicle. Writers Lori Dungey, lan Forsyth, Ken Roberts and Richard Side thought of com- bining the ‘carefully struc- tured and plotted murder mystery’ with the wide-open ‘anything-can-happen’ mayhem that is improvisa- tion.
