Sergei and Elena, who thanktully. were not in the car. Meredith was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia on September 18, 1949. the second youngest of four children. Her father was a naval officer, and the family moved frequently, even- tually moving permanently to Vic- toria, B.C. After working for te University of British Columbia, the Provincial Gaverrment and the B.C. Systems oration, Meredith Started her own very successful computer systems consulting com- pany, Merecith and Graham were married on May 29, 1987. Meredith was loving, affectionate, determined and energetic, often giving com- pletely of herself ta het others, and her vitality and outgoing personality shone during her life. Above all else, Meredith was devoted to her family. She fesves her parents. England, to Phyltis and James Powell, He was educated at Witral County Grammar Schoo! for Boys, where his interest in sports of all kinds was fostered. He excelled at soccer, rugby and athletics. After leaving school, Graham joined the Mersey Docks and Harbour Company in Liverpool, later moving to United Biscuits where he became Chief Progeam- mer, in 1976 he emigrated to Canada, first spending a year in Toronto, where he worked for Royal Insurance betore settling in Van- couver, where he formed a very suc- cessful computer consult:ns, pany, TP Systems, with tis close friend Joh Thompson, who also Criginates from Bebington. Graham always maintained the same infec- tious sense of humour and his friendly down to earth personality coupled with his approachability endeared him te everyone who knew hum.
