returned and helped form a team
with a aew coach who treats them
with respect and understanding.

Every Sunday they play to their
best ability with litle hope of win-
ning. all because a samall. albeit cal-
ented group, feels they deserve spe-
cial treatment to make the senior
team, Why should those who fol-
low the rules and support: each
other be treated as second-rate ath-
letes’ :

It's hard to believe these girls all
played together and were national
champions just a few short: years
ago. Now it’s everyone for herself.
So much for festering team spirit,
commitment and lovalty: what's
important Now is self-henefit. win

one.

These rules were nmide by an
imperfect systenl, and we strongly
disagreed with the process and the
net results. but we always thought it
was heuer working from the taside
as part of a solution as apposed to
the outside creating problems,
