VOLUNTEERS THE FOLLOWING is a selection of volunteer opportunities available through North Shore Community Services (NSCS). Special event volunteers are need- ed in October to help set up and man mail displays to do with sci- ence and technology. If you've ever wanted to wear a mascot costume now is your chance. Volunteers are needed to bring mascot characters to life. One-on-one support volunteers are needed for a program that helps parents with children 12 and under. Be a positive role model, friend and support. Orientation and training provided. . A North Shore gallery and museum needs peaple to act as gallery attendants providing security. meeting and greeting the public and helping with clerical work. Volunteer interpreters who can speak Persian/Farsi. Chinese. Polish, Spanish Filipina, Japanese or other languages, are needed to be available on an on-call basis to do translating in a variety of situations. A daytime program that teaches children about our forests and the West Coast environment needs dedicated volunteers three hours per week, Orientation and training are provided.
