Jail time

A_ 35-YEAR-OLD West) Vanconver man was recently
jailed 18 months in connection with charges of assaulting
a woinan, assaulting a police offleer and committing
mischief by damaging property.

Jeffery Robert Sparks pleaded yuilty to charges stem-
sing from Nov. £ incidents in West Vancouver.

The mischief charged involved dhe wilful damage of 4
closet, door frame, bookease, picture frame, portable
computer, portable telephone and refrigerator,

The property was owned by the Semate vietim named
in the assault charge.

West Vancouver Police Const, Dong fensen was aise
assaulted.

Plaza blaze

A GROUND-LEVEL apartment at the Plaza Interaa-
tional apartment complex was putied by fire on Tuesday,
Nov. 16.

'- The fire call was initially reported as “smoke in ihe
fobby”’ of Building B at the 1959 Marine Dr. complex,
sald a North Vancouver District, Fire Services
spokesman.

The apartment resident was not home at the time of
the blaze.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.

_ Assault charge

A 32-YEAR-GLD North Vancouver man was recently
jailed seven days in connection with charges of assaulting
a female and breaching a recognizance (court-ordered
pledge).

. Richard Edmond Rae pleaded guilty to the North Van-

’ couver City charges.

Rae was charged: ‘with breaching a recognizance on
June 20 by being at the front door of a house on the 200
block of East Sth Street in North Vancouver City.

The assault charge stemmed from a May 17 incident.
