Walker in North Vancouver provincial court on March 15: Edward James Markowski was sentenced to 14 days in jail and placed on probation for two years after the 32-year-old North Van- couver man pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman on Jan. 23. Before Judge R.D. Grandison in West Vancouver provincial court on March 15: Roger Blasio Harrison was sentenced to a total of 13 days in jail after the 21-year-old North Vancouver man pleaded guilty tc being in possession of a stolen licence plate and insurance decal and to driving without a licence and without insurance. The charges stem from an Aug. 12, 1990 incident. eee Francis Patrick Grilts was sentenced to five days in jail after the 4l-year-old Burnaby man pleaded guilty to theft from Woodwards. Before Judge W.J. Rodgers in North Vancouver provincial court on March 13: Richard Lyman Spigulis was fined a total of $900 after the 23-year-old Surrey man pleaded guilty to a charge of common assault and mischief in connection with a Jan. 19 incident. Spigulis was also ordered to pay Holidays nightclub in North Van- couver $102 in compensation. Before Judge R.D. Grandison in West Vancouver provincial court on March 13: Christopher Arnold received a conditional discharge and was placed on probation for six months after the 19-year-old North Vancouver man was found guilty of failing to appear for an Aug. 27, 1990 court date. eee . Jon Vankooten was sentenced to three months in jai! and was placed on probation for one year after the 19-year-old Vancouver man pleaded guilty to assaulting a man Feb. 22. The charge was reduced from assault causing bodily harm. Before Judge R.D. Grandison in West Vancouver provincial court on March 12: Donald Hatt was sentenced to one day in jail and fined $200 after the 21-year-old Vancouver man was found guilty of posses- sion of marijuana in connection with a March 19, 1990 drug seizure near the Lions Gate Bridge. Grandison in West Vancouver provincial court on March 11: Graham Albert Barron was fin- ed $400 and had his driver's licence suspended for one yeur after the 22-year-old Richmond man pleaded guilty to driving while prohibited Dec. 18, 1990. eee Grant Gordon Fenwick was fin- ed $300 after the 25-year-old Bur- naby man pleaded guilty to driv- ing without a driver's licence Jan. 20 on Esplanade. Overpass on schedule THE $22-million Lonsdale Avenue and Upper Levels Highway over- Pass project is ahead of schedule and should be finished in either late July or early August, project tnanager Leigh Martel has said. “It's coming along very well. It’s ahead of schedule and the contractor is just doing some clean-up work on it,’’ said Martel. He added that the contractor is now waiting for ‘good weather"’ before he starts landscape work con the overpass. The 24-year project, which began in the summer of 1990, was originally scheduled to be com- pleted in October of this year.
