Each side will present argu- ments, and eventually a political solution, which will satisfy very few, will be reached. The net result will ‘be that the real nominal owners of the land, namely the taxpayers of North Vancouver District, may very well find themselves burdened with extra costs which they neither want nor deserve. There is, however, 2 course of action which would be equitable to all, and that is for the park en- thusiasts to band together and purchase the land. This would en- sure that for the time being they would have control over the devel- opmen:. As our society continues down the road to socialism and the con- sequent erosion of property rights, North Van resident lauds Lynn Canyon Park stance OPEN LETTER TO NORTH VANCOUVER DISTRICT ALDERMAN ERNIE CRIST Not only yourself, but Alderman Gadsby and Alderman Rogers have my deepest appreciation for your very strong support in wan- ting to save the whole of Lynn Canyon Park. To think that the three of you care so much is indeed remarkable. I am just a cog in the wheel do- ing my small part, but the three of you are in such a position as to carry through your convictions knowing you are thinking the same thoughts as mest of the people on the North Shore. You might say that the three of you, together with hundreds of Coyotes should be a welcome sight Dear Editor: Iris Cann’s letter of Aug. 25 wams animal lovers that, once again, coyotes are seen in West Vancouver. I find the context in which she uses ‘once again’ rather sad because, for truc lovers of animals, it will be an occasion for rejoicing as they, like me, are distressed by the ever increasing disappearance of our wildlife. Clearly Ms. Cann’s reference to ‘animal lovers’ docs not apply to Hunter’s alf animals. Coyotes and others had a right to the land long before pooches and pussies were fashionable. Ms. Cann is right to keep her pets indoors at night (it’s where they should be). Everyone should follow suit and then the coyotes will clear the neighborhood of far more unwelcome pests such as mice and rats. T. Wilson Jones North Vancouver response was ‘Pavlovian’ Dear Editor: Bob Hunter's tirade against Tree Farm Licences represents his nor- mal Pavlovian response to the word “‘forest.’" As usual, his logic is weak and his facts distorted. But how does he come up with his ‘‘groups"’ of forest companies? If Hunter is presuming to inherit Doug Collins’ mantle of con- troversy, he had better produce something more credible than this mindless and wearisome harangue. R. G. Dean North Vancouver — Delivery at Prices of UP TO Sheraton Villa Hotel) there are no guarantees that even this would be a lasting solution, but as anything else would involve some sort of compromise, and as a compromised wilderness is no wilderness at all, I cannot see how the aims of the preservationists can be reached any other way.
