Canada World Youth is: a private non-profit organization that offers exchanges between Canada and countries in Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Caribean for people between the International Development Agen- cy, the program’s main objective is -to foster an awareness of culture: and development in Canada and overseas. Hansed is one of approximately 350 Canadians who will take part in the Canada World Youth organization this year. At the end of June, Hansed leaves for southwestern Quebec where he will work in an agricul- tural community. From there, he will go to Mali to work and live in a native village. An English literature major at the University of Victoria, Hansed also studied French at Laval Uni- versity in Quebec City. Kirsten, 13, is in grade 7 at Seymour Heights School and Keith, 11, is in grade 5 at the same school. Kirsten is a keen soccer player and s eet iaaed and is working on her bronze medallion. She also pla and loves to read, her favourite author the piano being Cynthia Voight. At school she enjoys Social Studies. Keith loves playing soccer as well as baseball and swimming and in the winter spends time skiing. At school his favourite subjects are Social Studies, Reading and Art. He also plays drums in the school band. Kirsten has put mest of her earings in the bank for her future when she aims to be a Doctor. Keith uses his North Shore News earnings for skiing and like his sister has used some of the money to buy a bike.
