Van fisherman honored NORTH VANCOUVER _fisker- Bee man Fred Sankey was awarded Mim medals of bravery recently from —& the U.S. Coast Guard for his part ia in helping rescue ‘wo American & fishermen in July 1987. Sankey, 51, was fishing for halibut with two other fishermen in a 24-foot a cabin cruiser approximately 19 miles off the West Coast in the Ha Swiftsure Bank when a freighter Bia radioed to say a small boat had gone Jown with two fishermen in rough segs nearby. Sankey and his boat responded to the call and Bey rescued the men after finding them Mm clinging to an overturned hull.
