FEE SCHEDULE By JOANNE MacDONALD PROPERTY OWNERS’ who have existing encroachments on municipal road allowances within the District of North Van- couver will be asked to pay a nominal fee of $10 — if the District finds out about it. North Vancouver District Council passed a pohcy amendment Monday which stated that if a pro- perty owner apples for the right to erect a structure on a portion of municipal road allowance, they will be re- quired to pay a rental fee amounting to five per cent of the pro rata assessed value of the abutting land. However, should Dhtstrict staff discover an existing encroachment through the process of approving the new application, the pro- perty owner will be required to either remove the existing encroachment from the road allowance at their sole expense, or to legalize the existing encroachment by obtaining a licence to occupy ‘an consideration for a licence fee, or additional licence fee as the case may be, in the nominal sum of $10 °° If the encroachment ap- phcation 1s demed either in whole or in part, the pro- perty owner will be required to remove the encroachment.
