Marilyn Johnson of Van-
couver, and a former North
Shore News editor, has been
appointed manager of the

Vancouver Safety Council,
effective March 1.

Council President Peter
Gleave announced the ap-
pointment recently at the
February meeting of the

Council’s executive.

Johnson previously served
three years as special projects
consultant with the B.C.
Police Commission, directly
following employment as
Living Section editor with the
North Shore News.

Prior to that. she had been
assistant co-ordinator of
pubhc programs for the
Justice Development Com-
mission, ministry of attorney
general

The council's former
manager, Mavis Roskell,
who had been with the Van
couver Satetvy Council for
four vears and manager since
August 1983. resigned to take
up her new post as Mas. iger
of the South Vancouver
