TWO ARRESTED Car parts stolen THEFTS of body trim and hubcaps from two luxury cars parked at Park Royal Towers last week led to charges being laid against two men and a police search of a North Vancouver auto body shop. West Vancouver police report that when they executed a search warrant at the body shop they recovered car parts mat- ching the description of those stolen. Police were alerted at about 4:45 a.m. when a resident of Park Royal Towers heard a noise in the parking area and saw two men removing sections of chrome trim, valued at $300, from a 1978 Lincoln Con- tinental and four hub caps, worth $240, from a 1974 Mercedes Benz. The men are reported to have driven away in a blue Corvette and to have been apprehended by police when they later returned in a red Chevy truck and attempted to remove bolts from the front bumper of the Lincoln. Police say a search of a North Van auto body shop led to the recovery of pieces of chrome trim, found there on the hood of a blue Lin- coln Continental, and of four Mercedes hub caps. Robert Merino, aged 22, of 904-1251 Cardero Street, in Vancouver, and Edhem Bilalovic, aged 29, of 1108- 1434 Burnaby Street, also in Vancouver, have been charged with theft over $200 ‘and are scheduled to appear in provincial court February 5.
