Q: What can you tell
me about buttons?

Azan about buttons?
Button problem are increasing. The
complaints regard buttons that dissolve, fade
of tamish when drycleaned,

Buttons that dissolve are made of a
plastic material that Softens, melts, and
sometimes transfers onto other areas or
other garments. They are similar to
decorative beds on wedding growns.

There are buttons that contain dyes or
colors that are solvent solubie, They
sometimes bleed onto the fabric or
completely lose their color.

Some button dyes or colors are affected
by moisture or steam. Consequently, when
the item is steam finished, the moisture
catises the dye to bleed onto the fabric.

Another problem is metallic or metallic:
like buttons, Some of these have a finish that
gives a bright, shiny appearance. The finish
is sometimes solvent soluble. Alter the first
or sevwral cleanings. the finish is removed.
The button than fakes on a dull or tarnished
appearance.

Usually, once the damage or bleeding
occurs, it cannot be remedied. Well warn
you of potential problems, and give you the
option of removing the buttons before the
