OF ALL the cruises on the

Panama Canal.

Having said that you'd think it
was a pretty straightforward matter:
sail in and sail out and Kodak has
had another good day.

But in the wonderful world of
cruising there’s often a new twist,
and Princess Cruises has just come

Okay, you have not been through
the Panama Canal, but you can say
you've “done it.”

You also get to spend more time
in the Caribbean as opposed to the
Pacific coast of Mexico, which can
be anything but peaceful.Not that
the 46,000-ton Sky Princess can't

“handle a sea. ft is a fine ship, just 10

years old but with some features
that are not always found in the lat-
est vessels.

For example, the deep hull
makes for a sea-kindly ride, so
much so that the ship’s doctor, John
Evans, reported that he had not seen
a case of seasickness in six weeks.

Our first call was Princess Cays,
a lovely, white beach ona
Bahamian island that looked remote
enough for Robinson Crusoe. The
sparkling sand and clear, clean
water were a treat for eyes jaded by
dreary skies, kitchen sinks and fil-
ing cabinets.

The next two days were at sea,
an opportunity for the energetic
cruise director and his staff to tempt
passengers with deck games.

The two pools were well used.
and many were happy to find a
comfortable spot, read and relax. As
