on Sept. 12:

Carolyn Ann Chuback, 43, of
North Vancouver, received 12
months’ probation after she pleaded
guilty to the following charges stem-
ming from North Vancouver District
incidents:

@ stealing items belonging to Super
Valu on June 28:

B stealing merchandise belonging to
Canada Safeway on July 13.

Chuback was required 10 perforni
100 hours of community work ser-
vice within six months of sentencing.

Before Judge Bill Rodgers in
North Vancouver provincial court
oa Sept. 9:

Bruce Lacnlan Duncan, 47, of
West Vancouver, received 24
months’ prebation after he pleaded
guilty to assaulting a female on Jan.
30 in West Vancouver.

Before Judge Jerome Paradis
in West Vencouver provincial
court on Aug. 15:

Karl Ewald Boese, 53, of West
Vancouver, received 12 months’
probation after he pleaded guilty to
assaulting a female between Dec. 4,
1993, and Dec. 7, 1993, in West
Vancouver.

Marvin W. James, 38, of North
Vancouver, was fined a iotal of $500
after he pleaded guilty to the follow-
ing charges sternming from July 1
incidents in Howe Sound:

& fishing commercially while being
unregistered:

@ trolling in commercial trolling
waters during a closed time for a
specific salmon species; and

@ having on board a vessel a prohib-
ited salmon species.

Patricia Gale Orr, 55, of West
Vancouver, received nine months’
probation after she pleaded guilty to
stealing merchandise belonging to
London Drugs in West Vancouver
on April 3.

Michael Steven Sved, 41. of West
Vancouver, received [2 months’
probation aid was fined $50 after he
pleaded guilty to stealing two charity

Family Services of the North Shore and the
University of British Columbia School of Social Work
are conducting a research project to identify effec-
tive treatment strategies for survivors of sexual
abuse. Family Services is seeking women who have
been sexually abused as children to participate in
