struck by. an errant golf ball in
1991 in Langley.

The North Vancouver woman |

filed a civil suit in B.C. Supreme
Court on Tuesday, March 9,
‘claiming that Loren Fedje of
Langley negligently played the ball
at the Newlands Golf and Racquet
Club.
The, incident occurred near the
tee area of the’ 14th hole. .
Harvey-Logan’s claim . alleges
“that the golfer failed to keep’ a
‘proper lookout: for other golfers,

NV woman seeks damages after being hit by shot near tee-off area

played an unsafe shot and failed
to warn the victim prior to playing
the shot.

The suit claims damages for in-
juries, particularly to the left eye.
The injury, according to the. suit,
has resulted in pain and suffering,
impaired vision and lost earnings.

Harvey-Logan was. wearing
glasses at the time of the incident,
which absorbed the majority of
the impact.

Medical reports describe the in-
jury as a rupture of the elastic
layer beneath the retina,

“She was fortunate the
damage could have been. far
worse,”” Said John Gordon’ of
Harvey-

Logan’s lawyer.

The golf course has not been
named in the suit.

type of accident to happen,’’ said

Newlands general manager Rick
Anderson.

Anderson said the club enlists
the aid of members to identify
potentially dangerous areas which
are then strategically screened
where practical,

Accidents occur back-to-back

PATRIZIA Badalucco hopes to
resolve her bad luck in court.

The North Vancouver resi-
dent filed suit on Wednesday,
March 10, in B.C. Supreme
Court over back-to-back traf-
fic accidents. Badalucco was
struck twice in two days last
April. Both accidents occurred
at intersections. -

On April 9, 1992, Badalucco

‘was allegediv struck. at Moun-

tain Highway and Dempsey
Road by Tyler Jeffrey Marsh
of North Vancouver. The next
day, she was hit at an intersec-

tion in Vancouver.

The unlucky motorist claims
damages for injuries that in-
