The Chena contingent at the Nov. 9-12 meet comprised seven boys and one girl. Ranked third in Canada in the 13 to 14-year-olds 200-metre breaststroke, Vaugha Tismpsen won gold medals in the 100- and 200-metre breaststroke, silver in the 400-metre individual mediey and bronze in the 200-metre indi- vidual medley and 1500- and 200-metre freestyle. Ranked third in Canada in the 11 to 12-year-olds 200-metre breaststroke, Marek Hejduk won gofd in the 200-metre breaststroke, silver in the 100- and 400-smctre freestyle, 400-metre individual medley and 100-metre butterfly and a bronze in the 200-metre but- terfly. Ashley Webber, 10, won a silver in the 100-metre backstroke while Romin Gerela won a silver in the 50-metre freestyle and Adam Fallis won a bronze in the 100-metre freestyle. JUNIOR HOCKEY uckeroos douse Flames THE NORTH Shore Winter Clu Fiames lost ground in the tightly-packed West Coast junior Hockey League standings as they fell 7-3 to the Port Co- guitlam Buckeroos Saturday at the Winter Club, after a 10-5 loss to the Biuehawks at Burnaby on Nov. 23 and tying the Express 4-4 at Hastings on Nov. 20. A schedule of seven games in a 14-day span and a rash of six serious knee injuries accounts in part for the Flames’ recent on-ice performance. At Hastings, Andrew Merilees became the third Flaine player in 10 days to require knee surgery and be out for the season. In that game, after the two teams traded first period goals, the Express led 3-2 after two and had gone ahead 4-2 early in the third period be- fore the Flames staged their comeback. Rob Toursier combined with Brian Lee at the 14:19 mark to bring the Flames to within one goal, and then with only five seconds remaining, Dave Shepard con- verted from Rich Rougeau and Brad Costa to salvage the point for the Flames.
