way — I got an excellent deal on
an eelskin wallet — can’t
remember the name of the place,
but it’s the only leather shop on
the Hillclimb.

We found the Pier area ho-hum
and about as touristy as you'll find
short of Atlantic City. Lots of
ouuets for cheap snacks, mostly
fried fish. We had one meal at the
Salmon Cooker on Pier 57, but P'd
have to be damn hungry to do that
again.

Next visit: We'll not miss a visit
to the Underground, billed as
Seattle’s number one tour. I’m
told it takes about a half-hour and
starts on First Avenue, walking
distance from the Market.

Next week: Some bargains
shopping along 1-S.
