New on the North Shore art scene this summer, Arts Express is a visual and performing arts camp for children eight to 12 years of age. Initiated and conceived by a group Of artisans, the program has been created under the auspices of the West Vancouver Parks and Recreation Department and will be held at Dundarave House near Peppi’s from Aug. 21 to Sept. I. The program is designed as an integrated approach to the arts where children can freely express themselves through three different options: puppetry, drama and im- provisation, or multi-media art. By MARTIN MILLERCHIP Contributing Writer Council has approved staff rec- ommendations to form a commit- tce to review the potential for a golf course in the Northlands area and to hire a consultant to prepare a report by Sept. 30. The committee will be made up of representatives from the North Shore Public Golf Course Society, the Recreation Commission, coun- cil and staff, the provincial gov- ernment, the Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) and landowners. The study, which is nut to ex- ceed $20,000, will review the needs for public golf course facilities in the Seymour/Northlands vicinity and weigh the feasibility of the three propasals outlined by the North Shore Public Golf Course Society and that of the provincial WY carnival held JOIN THE festivities at West Vancouver Recreation Centre's annual summer carnival. Activities include penny carnival games (bring your penni¢s), a waterslide, entertainment and refreshments. .
