Full marks to Hana Mercer
for her witty and astute en-
tque of CBC television
(News, Dee. EE).

Perhaps she could devote a
future column to CBC radio.
For CBC television does have
one advantage over its audio-
only companion -— the com-
mercial breaks to provide the

viewer with some respite. But
CBC radio is entirely subsi-
dized by the taxpayer and is
therefore commercial-tree.
Consequently, there is no
relief from the stream of sick-
cningly predictable, politically
correct: claptrap thar pours
trom any radio tuned te: its
frequeney.
