McCredie News Reporter A West Vancouver program designed for every parent’s and kid's plea — ‘What are we going to do this summer?*? — is cur- tently gearing up for its sopho- more summer season. Kidsummer is a one-of-a-kind program for children between the ages of five and 12, and their respective parent/guardian, offer- ing 64 days of activities exploring the community. “A different event al a different location every day of the sum- mer,’’ is how Kidsummer pro- ducer Brian Firestone describes the program. “Our inaugural year last: sum- mer was a tremendous success, and this year’s program is sure to be just as successful.” Kidsummer begins June 27 and tuns every day until Aug. 29. The events on the 64-day calendar cover the entire Greater Van- couver/Lower Mainland com- munity, and offer fun, adven- turous and educational oppor- tunities. The first day of the program offers a trip to the Vancouver Public Aquarium, and from there, a whirlwind tour of imuseums, art galleries, business tours, local farms, and a number of other at- tractions guarantee never a dull day. Highlights from last year’s tour — also on this summer's slate — ‘include a day at Splashdown Park and a tour of the Molson Van- couver lady. 29. This site accepts green waste (leaves, branches, clippings, etc.) dropped off by North Shore residents and private operations. The new contractor, Envirowaste, wili be composting the green waste at its Matsqui plant for production of high-quality, retail soil amendment products. In preparation for the new contractor, the green waste site will be closed for repair. AN green waste brought to the yard between June 2 and June 6 will be accepted for drop-off, but will be redirected into the Transfer Station.
