Far the last year she has been
displaying that energy level every
Monday at the West Vancouver
Royal Canadian Legion by plaving
the piano.

Everyone is so nice here,"’ said
Bannister, as she took a = short
break from her piano.

“| played piano professionally
in England, and I used to run a
band, what you would call a gig.”

But Bannister is not the only
one who displays her youthful
energy at the Monday afternoon
socials.

Legion spokesman Jean Coulle
said one of the big draws of the
weekly event is line dancing ~.
lessons that are taught to the
legion members.

“Most people have no idea
what happens at a legion. Most
people think that what goes on
here is a bunch of old people get
together and just drink,’’ said
Coulle.

But that myth was dispelled one
recent Monday afternoon as the
legion members took part in line
dancing, a Christmas skit that in-
. me cluded Santa, and singing.
