The forcign students who at- tended West Vancouver summer school were from iran, Indonesia, Korea, Taiwan, Hungary, Hong Kong, Cyprus and Texas. Sixteen of the students were enrolled in ESL classes, according to a report submitted Monday to the school board by summer- school principal Barry Lindahl. All out-of-district. students do not attend West Vancouver schools during the regular school year. Summer school students in West Vancouver this year numbered 386. Each student paid $200 regis- tration fees, which are the highest in metropolitan Vancouver. Summer school consisted of 60 hours of school work. The summer-school program lost $6,600 this year, down from $12,200 in 1990. School board administration expects summer- school costs to break even in two years. Summer-school losses are currently absorbed by the school board.
