German man cycles for cancer ‘Take forest tours

Westphal was enosed with a

his belongings and with only his
dog, $2,000 and a fierce deter-
mination to spread the message
that cancer can be beaten, he left
Germany and set out to cycle
across North America.

Since arriving in New Youk in
February. he has cycled through
five ULS. states, Noval Scotia.
Newfoundhind, New Brunswick,
Quebee. Ontario, and Minitoba.
He is now on his way to Akeska
after ecveling through Vancouver
on duly 30,

Westphal was motivated by
Terry Fox. His message is that

EVERY SUNDAY until October 7, the GVRD will offer tours at the
Seymour Demonstration Forest in North Vancouver.

The intormai 90-minute walks leave the parking lot at the north end
of Lillooet Rd. at noon and 2 p.m. Volunteers from the forest industry
provide information, The tours are free and take place regardless of the
weather.

The trail is suitable for all family members. During the week, groups
