Pair jailed for cig theft TWO NORTH $Vancouver residents were sentenced Thursday in North Vancouver provincial ecurt to 18 months in jail after they were convicted of theft over $1,000. Albert Francis Lorenzetto, 30, and Wendy Lynn Eistetter, 20, both of 310 East 2nd St., were originally charged in connection with an Aug. 24 theft of cigarettes. A Yancouver Police strike force observed Lorenzetto breaking a vehicle window in the t00-block of East 2nd St. in Vancouver, removing 31 cartons of cigarettes and placing them into a car driven by Eistetter. Both were arrested as they attempted to take more cigarettes. Lorenzetto was also charged with possession of instruments suitable for breaking into vehicles in connection with a police seizure of a screwdriver. In two separate incidents, Eistetter was charged with (wo counts of breaching her probation when she was alleged to have tailed to attend drug and alcohol counselling. Lorenzetto was sentenced to an udditional six months for possession of break and enter tools, while Eistetter received an ad- ditional threeemonth sentence after she pleaded guilty to one count of breaching her probation. The additional sentences will be served concurrently with the 18-month sentence. Suite damaged by smoke NORTH VANCOUVER City Fire Department firefighters responded to an apartment fire at 358 East 3rd Si. Wednesday at 12:59 a.m. The fire was confined to one suite with minor smoke damage (o several suites nearby. The living room of the burning suite was destroyed. The suite was unoccupied at the time of the fire. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Man appears on weapon charges A 33-YEAR-OLD North Vancouver man will appear Sept. 2 in North Vancouver provincial court to face four weapons charges laid against him. Michael John Bennett was originaily charged with assaufting another male with a weapon, two counts of pointing a firearm and one count of possession of a weapon for a purpose dangerous to the public peace in connection with an Aug. 22 incident at Cat Lake near Squamish in which a rifle was atlegedly pointed at two other males. Man sentenced for cash theft A 28-YEAR-OLD North Vancouver man was sentenced Tuesday in North Vancouver provincial court (o four months in jail after he pleaded guilty to two counts of theft under $1,000. Patrick Thomas Normoyle was originally charged in connection with incidents Aug. 14, 1986 and Sept. 1 to 5, 1986 in which money was stolen from 4 Liquor Distribution branch in West Yancouver and North Vancouver. In addition to the jail sentence, Normoyle was ordered to pay $119.20 in compensation to the Liquor Distribution Branch.
