High School Mountain Bike championships, held May 29 at the Lov Seymour Conservation Reserve. Due to the unexpected large snowpack the event was moved from its original planned location at Grouse = Mountain. — This required a major relocation of fencing, supplies and peoph . ¢ Greater Vancouver Regional District and the con- servation reserve should also be commended for allowing the event to be held in the reserve on such short notice. Finally, the assistance given by local bike shops throughout the spring helped to make this one of the most successfll rac ing seasons ever. Sam Scorda of Argyle and Manon Aubert of Handsworth should be con- gratulated for their efforts in organizing such an outstand- ing championship for several hundred young athletes. The racing was excellent but more importantly, it was great to sce so many young athletes partic- ipating in healthy competition.
