2 — Sunday, June 11, 1995 - North Shore News Cab drivers victi POLICE ARE looking for a man who pulied a handgun on a taxi driver early Tuesday morning in the 200-block of Lawa Road in West Vancouver. The cabbie had picked up the man in the 1300-block of Fernwood Crescent in North Vancouver at 2 a.m., according to a West Vancouver Police spokesman, The cabbie was not robbed dur- ing the incident, said police. The suspect is described is being a Caucasian male in his 20s, 0.78 m (53°10"), 77 ke (170 tbs.) with eon hair, short at the sides and longer at the back. He was wearing a black bomber-style leather jacket. Meanwhile the North Vancouver RCMP have put out a Crimestoppers alert concerning the armed robbery of a cab driver on March 15. The cabbie had picked up a pas- senger on Marine Drive at Philip Avenue after being flagged down at diaum. Near Sixth Street and Mahon Avenue, the cabbie asked the man if he hid enough money to pay the fare. Police said the cabbie then noticed a knife in the man's hand. The passenger demanded the cabbie turn over all his money. The suspect is described as being a Caucasian male, about 30. years ald, 1.70 m (5°6"), 65 kg (143 Ibs.) with dark hair.
