Squamish show nears

SUMMER IS here and the
Squamish Days Logger Sports
Festival is just around the cor-
ner.

The annual event is the largest
logging show in the world, featur-
ing many events during the
Thursday, July 28, to Monday,
Aug. } festival.

There’s something for everyone
at the five-day world-class event.

For the kids, there's the
Children’s Festival, featuring a
Teddy Bear Clinic and Lego build-
ing competition.

Mom and Dad can put on their
dancing shoes and enjoy live enter-
tainment at the Haul back Hoedown
and the Loggers’ Stomp Dance.

There's also a parade, pancake
breakfast. Children’s Sports event
and, of course, the spectacular
World Championship Loggers’
Sports Show.

The family will how? with
laughter as loggers slip and slide
across huge fallen logs. and often
end up in the “drink” as they com-
pete in the popular Chokerman's
Race.

Hearts will pound with excite-
ment as competitors from all over
the world compete against the clock
in the powersaw tree-falling event.

Changing the way we

he Forest Practices Code of British Columbia Act was

, introduced in the BC Legislature on May 16, 1994.

It will make better forest practices the law — backed up
by tough enforcement and heavy penalties.
