Hoedown looking for sponsors

THE NORTH Shore Counselling
Centre (NSCC) is looking for
sponsors for its fundraising
hoedown, which is scheduled for
Saturday, Oct. 17 at Gleneagles
Golf Club.

In response to the calf for
community support, Gary Bader,
Royal Bank North Shore area
manger, recently presented a
$1,000 cheque to NSCC on behalf
of the bank.

The Royal Bank is a sponsor in
the ‘‘supporter"’ category for the
fundraiser. Other sponsors include
several North Shore Shoppers
Urug Mart stores, which are listed
in the ‘‘contributor’’ category.

Hoedown organizers are actively
seeking the support of other
community-spirited businesses as
sponsors or contributors of auc-
tion items.

Proceeds from the event will
fund counselling help for low-
income families and individuals on
the North Shore who are dealing
with stress, marital problems and
bereavement.

The hoedown was a sold-out
event last year. Organizers say the
western theme is something
everyone really enjoys.
