Pacific Partners wili advise the company in the areas of market- ing, public relations, communica- tions and corporate affairs and as the company’s agency-of-record in advertising and promotions. eae WORLDWISE PRODUCTS Ltd., a newly-formed North Van- North Van District leads in North Shore housing starts HOUSING STARTS in the Greater Vancouver area during March totalled 1,911 units, an in- crease of nine per cent from March 1989, according to the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corpora- tion (CMHC). On the North Shore, North Vancouver District recorded the highest number of housing starts with a total of 78, which included 68 multiple unit housing starts and 10 single units. The district was followed by North Vancouver City, where a total of 50 new housing starts were recorded in March, including 48 multiple unit starts and two single unit starts. West Vancouver District _re- corded 14 new housing starts, ali in the area of singte units. There were a total of two new housing starts in Lions Bay, both in the area of single units. Overall in the Greater Van- couver area, there were 774 single detached starts in March, 1,137 multiple starts for a total of 1,911 new housing starts. ‘The high level of condominium construction is keeping housing Starts at record levels,’” said Don Renaud, CMHC senior market analyst. He added that condominiums are in greater demand because they are generally more affordable than new single detached units. Total first quarter starts were 5,520, an increase of 13 per cent over the 1989 level. First quarter single detached starts, at 2,127 units were at the same level as in 1989 with 2,216 starts being re- corded.
