The tender for the first phase has. been called for February 1. ; .A second contract, to be called in. the. spring, will cover cable work to be com- pleted by October. The third, and largest tender, to be called this sum- mer, is for replacement of the centre span of the bridge by 1982. The bridge road- way will be widened to 35 feet from its present 29 feet and two sidewalks will be separated by a barrier from vehicular traffic. The minister estimated the total cost of the work at $32 million.
