ESCAPE TO Paris with the
West Vancouver-based British
Columbia Boys’ Choir (BCBC).

The choir's next performance,
Faure's Paris: 1890, features Faure's
Requiem, one of the most famous of
alt choral works.

The choir performs Faure’s work
with orchestra, as it was when it pre-
miered in 1893 at the Church of the
Madeline in Paris.

The boys’ choir will also perform
secular works by Pierre Certon and a
motet by Jean Richafort. Also on the
program are two motets by Faure and
works by Faure’s contemporaries,
Cesar Franck and Camille Saint-
Saens.

BCBC’'s training choirs, The
Choristers, will premiere a new
arrangement of three Quebecois folk
songs by Vancouver composer David
Duke. Founded 28 years ago, the
boys’ choir. has toured through the
Netherlands, Russia, United States,
Europe and the Czech Republic.

Forty five singers between the
ages of eighi and 25 make up the
choir.

Tickets, $16 for adults and $14
for students and seniors, are available
through Ticketmaster at 280-4444,
