At Tuesday's regular board
meeting, trustees turned down a
detailed written proposal from the
high-powered Vancouver firm of
Palmer-Jarvis Advertising (PJS) to
provide public relations services tor

an initial cost of $9,500 and $125
an hour afterwards as needed.
Trustee Barbara Howard said
the district's Communications and
Personnel Committee decided the
PJS plan did not fill the district's
current needs and recommended
that senior staff develop their own

communications plan.

Trustee Clive Bird said the
move would not cost the district
awny additional funds because
administrators would be expected
to finish the plan during regular
working hours which were already
in the districCs budget.
