Shower (mini-hotel) at the airport!

Lori and I tried it last month
and it was an excellent way to
spend the rest of the night after
our flight cleared Customs at 2
a.m.

Rooms rent for eight hours for
U.S. $22.75 (singles only). Beds
are comfy with showers etc. in-
cluded ensuite. One problem, to
come from the International Ar-
tival area, you have to return
through security in the main ter-
minal. They don’t want you there!

First, make a reservation: Call

When you arrive and security
doesn’t want to let you through, a
quick call to Sleep/Shower will get
you an escort to the door.

For just a shower and total

clean-up (shampoo, razors, etc.
provided) it’s $7.50 and great for
business travellers arriving early in
the morning.

There’s an all-night snack bar
adjacent. You can bring your
drink and have a cigarette in the
tiny lobby, but the rooms are
non-smoking.

quite a number of North Shore
residents wanted to attend.

However, regular scheduled
airlines weren't popular with this
group since the ‘no smoking’ pol-
icy emerged.

“What did {! know about
chartering private jets to transport
this group?”’

In a word, nothing.

I called a few friends in the
travel business and was led to Ken
Jens of Canada Jet Charters
(273-1166).

The cost of chartering a Lear
for the return trip to Toronto is
$17,500 plus GST.

On top of this, the crew ex-
penses must be paid for any ex-
tended stay — I had to assume
that this reunion would last a
couple of days at least.

There is a bar on board (com-
plimentary), but you pay for food
at cost.

The company jets are maintain-
ed by Innotech and the friend
(Ross Ireland) who put me onto
the company raved about the
spotless condition of any aircraft
maintained by Innotech.

What do I know about
chartered jets? A little more than
I did, but still not a lot. I’ve never
seen the. interior, much less flown
in one. ‘Isn't it people like Cher
that do that?

You can take eight passengers,
but the company prefers six or

seven. The trip takes about four

hours.

Preparedness, computers and
other marketable skills to a group
of youths. Come and assist a
group of kids who can benefit

ORGANIZED, efficient person
wanted to catalogue and rearrange
a library at a counselling centre.

I called Ross back to give him
an update on the tip he’d given
me. He made a deal! — if either of
