Bay, has recently opened a new,
spacious fashion shop on the old
Expo site called ‘‘Labels,’’ where
everything is custom-designed and
hand-crafted. And that’s what
Ted's gift was to Mary — a stunn-
ing outfit in silk-lined moss green
Italian wool challis, and just
perfect with her brunette coloring.

While Mary was overwhelmed
by the surprise party, she was
completely stunned when she
received a phone call, wishing her
& happy birthday from one of her
all-time favorite actors, the very
distinguished and elegant
Hollywood actor and Dynasty
soap star, John Forsythe!

He was in town for only one day
to assist in the big pitch for a race
track at Colony Farms in Co-
quitlam. He’d done an interview
with Terry on ‘NW, and Terry,
knowing that Mary was a fan, in-
vited him to the surprise party.
John couldn’t make it to the party
but he did promise to. phone, a
promise that he managed to keep,

Another surprise party of note
was held at the West Van home of
Geri Stimpson and her devel-
oper-husband Fred, for their close
friend, Lynda Rowland, who was
celebrating her 40th birthday.

Lynda is the wife of Scott
Rowland, owner of Luminescence,
the lighting store on Argyle in
West Van. She, like Mary Smith,
was just astounded! She did not
expect it!

Some of those attending in the
party theme of midnight blue and
silver were tour company owner
Glyn and Emily Edwards, lucky
fisherman Dr. Ehor Boyanowski,
singer Signi Murgatroyd and her
lawyer-husband, Michael, and
Anita and Hart Mofthagen, who
recently sold their O’Doul’s Hotel
and Restaurant on Robson but are
still managing the complex, and
who are building a new waterfront
home in Lions Bay...

It was just as exciting an evening
for Chartwell Drive’s Dr. Del St.
John and Jane, his lovely bride of
25 years. Their family got together
for a surprise Silver Anniversary
dinner at the Teahouse this past
Monday night, after having the
happy couple picked up by limo
for a romantic drive around
Stanley Park.

Their children had even arrang-
ed with owner Brent Davies to
have candelabra and red roses on
the table, while their chocolate
anniversary cake, flower-bedecked
and iced in white chocolate, was
created by Julie furke’s
Everything Done Right Catering in
North Vancouver. Jane and Del
hated to cut into it, it was so
beautiful...
