QUESTION TO THE ELECTORS ON 320 TAYLOR WAY/
680 MARINE DRIVE BYLAW. NO. 2461, 1988

A Bylaw authorizing the submission to the Elec-
tors during the 1988 Municipal Elections.

WHEREAS the Municipal Act allows for a submis-
sion to the electorate in the form of a baliot vote
(more commonly called a ‘‘Referendum’’) on mat-
ters with which Council has the power to deal;
AND WHEREAS the purpose of this Byiaw is to ob-
tain opinion from the electorate on the use of the
site at 320 Taylor Way/680 Marine Drive;
NOW THEREFORE the Council of The Corporation gf
of the District of West Vancouver in open meeting &
assembled, enacts as follows: |
1. That a ballot vote be held in conjunction with

the Municipal election on 1988 November 19,

to obtain the opinion of the electors as

follows:

‘In 1981 Council zoned the Municipally
owned 3.5 acre (1.6 hectare) parcel of land
at the southeast corner of Taylor Way and
Marine Drive for highrise use with a majori-
ty of the site to be landscaped open space.
A principal objective was to generate
revenue for Municipal purposes by leasing
this land. ‘t has now become necessary to
ask the citizens of West Vancouver for their
opinion on whether this land should be used
to generate revenue for the Municipality or
for some other non-revenue generating use,

such as a park.

parcel of Municipally owned land
to generate revenue for the
