Dear Editor:

I have read your News View-
point of Charity vs Taxes and con-
cur entirely with this view.

Far too often we look to gov-
ernment to fund charitable causes
without realizing that gov-
ernment-funded projects mean
More taxes and often a less effi-
cient operation.

When we make a donation to
support a particular charity we are
Teally voting for a service that we
feel society needs. If we couple this
with a responsible attitude of fi-
nancial and other support for this
segment of our society we really
have the best of both worlds — a
charitable system that responds to
needs and a say in what we want to
support.
