Build Your Own Robot will be
offered Friday, Jan. 22 fram | to $
p.m. for adults and Saturday, Feb.
27 from 9:30 a.m, to 4 p.m. for
children.

Participamts will gain a working
knowledge of robotic fundamen-
tals such as the operation of clec-
tronics, how sensors supply robots
with information about their en-
vironment, mechanical gears, link-
ages and electric motors.

Participants will build one of
two robots: a three-wheeler named
Peppy or a four-legged walking
robot named Medusa. These
mini-robots are designed after in-

dustrial robots and respond to 44
commands. At the end of the
workshops participants can take
their robots home,

A less intense robotics workshop
will be offered for parents and
preschoolers on Saturay, Jan. 23,
from 10 a.m. to noon, and Sun-
day, Jan. 24, from 12:30 to 3 p.m.
Participants will increase their
knowledge of robotics while pro-
gramming five different robots.

No sinee workshops are being
offered through the Arts, Sciences
and Technology Centre. All sup-
plies are included.
