The central figure is his father, who is portrayed as a very strong minded man who could accomplish almost anything he had a mind to. Morton slips back and forth in time effortlessly as he weaves the thread of his boyhood in South Burnaby, to his journey to England and Scotland to continue his education. Morton graduated from the University of B.C. with an honours degree in Bacteriology and went on to his degree in Medicine at McGill. Since 1955 he has been with the faculty of medicine of UBC where he is assistant professor and director of the Lung Func- tion Laboratory. Morton has a keen interest in regional history and has written three other books - Capilano, the story of a JAMES MORTON river, In the Sea of Sterile Mountains and the En- terprising Mr. Moody and the Bumptious Captain Stamp. He will be at the West Vancouver Memorial Library on Thursday, Nov. 26th between 7:00 and 8:30 pm to discuss his books and the subject matter related to them. Phone 926-3291.
