SOME special items will
be up for auction at a
gala dinner for Argyle
secondary’s music pro-
gram on Oct. 15.

The event is being held at
Gleneagles Golf Club to raise
money for the music pro-
grams renovation fund.

Currently, 600 music stu-
dents are being squeezed into
a space which was deemed too
small for 200) students in
1982.

A couple of the school’s
famous alumni have gotten
wind of the young musicians’
predicament.

Paul Kariya, of the NHL's
Anaheim Mighty Ducks, has
donated an autographed 95
Skybox Xcited hockey card
and an autographed °96-°97
Fleer hockey card.

Bryan Adams has donated
autographed music buoks and
sheet music.

The items will be up for
bidding during a brief live auc-
tion conducted by the CBC's
Kevin Evans.

The evening will also fea-
ture a silent auction and per-
formances by members of the
school’s music program — and
the Vancouver Symphony
Orchestra.

Tickets are $75 and avail-
able at the school or by calling
Corrine Perry at 987-5763.
VISA is welcome.
