Cruise into Savings

N. Shore yacht clubs
plan events for spring

THE HOLLYBURN Sailing Club is starting to
gear up for another season of racing, socializing
and pleasure sailing.

A dinner/dance for members will be held at
the Deep Cove Yacht Club on Saturday, May 5,
a good warm-up for the festive annual sailpast
that will take place the next day at the Hollyburn
club at | p.m.

Sailing instruction for adults and juniors will
take place starting in May, and races will take
place on Sunday and Wednesday evenings in the
summer,

Club members also participate in West Van-
couver Day and Canada Day and provide rescue
boats for the Native War Canoe Races off

The Burrard Yacht Ciub will be holding its
sailpast on Saturday, May 5 off Cates Park.
Starting at 12 noon, approximately 200 vessels,
fed by Vics-Commodore Brian Haley in his
vessel ‘‘Defiance,'’ will sail past and salute
Commodore Walter Szafranski in the ‘Patti
Jo."

its commodore on May 12 at noon. Phone 921-
