Lukic was on his last garbage pick-up of the day when the fats] mishap occurred. . | Youth jailed for sex assault A 15-YEAR-OLD West Vancouver youth, facing a charge of sex- ual assault, was sentenced in West Vancouver provincial court Monday to 30 days jail. : According to a West Vancouver Police spokesperson, the con- viction stems from an incident which occurred earlier this month at the Eaton’s store in Park Royal south. Police say a youth approached 2 69-year-old North Vancouver woman at about 4:30 p.m., felt her legs, rubbed her buttocks and then left the store. Police apprehended the suspect a short time later in the 1000-block of Marine Drive. NV man jailed for theft A 19-YEAR-OLD North Vancouver man was sentenced June 16 in North Vancouver provincial court to three months in jail after he pleaded guiity to 10 theft and mischief charges. Richard Reid Warner was originally charged with four counts of theft ander $1,000 and six counts of mischief in connection with Jan. 14 incidents in which the windows of six cars were smashed and items such 23 stereos and electric razors stolen. According to a West Vancouver Police spokesman, Dale Allan Chalmers, 2%, was pulled over by a West Vancouver Police patrol car April 14 at 10:30 a.m. on Cypress Bow! Road. The driver's licence produced for the officer had expired in 1987. According to police, Chalmers had been ticketed four times prior to April 14 for driving with an expired licence. N y dog park |.debate goes to committee NORTH VANCOUVER District Council threw some water on the dog debate Monday night in an at- tempt to cool tempers of those in favor and those opposed to year- round dog access at the north end of Cates Park. The par is currently designated a leashed area for dog use between Oct. 1 and April 15 only, but council is debating a bylaw that will allow supervised but unleashed dogs year round use of the north side of the park. Ever since the News published details of the proposed bylaw, council has been receiving letters expressing violent opposition to the plan as well as letters decrying the lack of dog-walk sites in the Dellarton/Cove area.
