THIS SUMMER the North
Shore Family YMCA is of-
fering a variety of programs
for you and your family.

North and West Van-
couver Surimer Fun pro-
vides an exciting first step
into the world of organized
camping for five to eight
year olds.

As a participant, your
child is encouraged to seck
independence in- a non-
threatening, safe . environ-
ment. : ;

Summer Fun is a chance
for your child to be out-
doors, sharing new experi-
ences with special friends,

while returning’ home to a
familiar environment in the
evening.

An integral part of the
camping experience is West
Vancouver's Camp In-
glewood and North Van-
couver’s Camp Cloverley for
nine to 12 year olds.

Day camps provide the
youth with the opportunity
to participate in a group,
explore and accept new
challenges and respon-
sibilities.

AS a group member, each
participant works in-
terdependently with his or
her peers and counsellor to

develop a well-rounded pro-
gram to meet the needs of
the group.

Canoeing, hiking and
outdoor living skills are but
a few of the activities.

The Summer Sports

quetball, tennis and other
