By PAT RICH Any plans to convert the Stoker farm property in North Vancouver into a heritage site now rest with the land agent of the City of North Vancouver. He has been given one month by council to see how the City can purchase part or all of the Stoker farm property at 29th Street and Lonsdale Avenue. And if it he has no luck, any plans to preserve the site will remain “an impossible dream.” City council made the decision Monday evening after hearing from the North Vancouver Community Arts council which was com- missioned to undertake a preliminary report on the feastbilty of saving Stoker farm as public property. Stoker farm 1s currently privately owned by a family who want to sell the property. And on the City’s official community plan, the land is earmarked for at- tached housing. ‘STOKER GARDENS’ On June 6. City council endorsed the concept of saving the Stoker farm as a heritage site and gave the Arts council $1,000 seed money and a month to undertake a preliminary study.
