compete

Firemen from the North
Shore will be racing old
fashioned hose reels, staging
demonstrations, and having
a dance later on to help the
burn centre and Lions Gate
Hospital.

The second annual North
Shore Firefighters Hose Reel
Festival takes place
Saturday, May 28.

The festival begins at 9:30
with a parade starting at 15th
and Grand Blvd. It will
proceed to Mahon Park
(16th and Jones) where
eleven events will take place
starting at 11:00 a.m. and
ending at 4:30 p.m. But the
festivities won't be over
then.

A dance will follow in the
Capilano Room of the North
Van Rec Centre from 8:00
p-m. to 1:00 a.m. Well
known North Vancouver
band The Act will be per-
forming. Tickets are $5 each
and proceeds from the dance
will also go to the Burn
centre and LGH.
